Just some advice for my nose piercing . . please??
Question: ok so I got my nose pierced about 2 days ago . . . with a gun and it has a back on it! I think I probably shouldnt have got it done this way! nevermind it is done now . . I am cleaning it twice a day with savlon in liquid form is this ok to use? should i put tea tree on? any other advice to help it heal to stop scarring? also it is a little swollen and the actual end is a little indented into the swelling . . is this normal?
Answers: oh god... please go visi a REAL piercer. get REAL nose jewelry and appropriate jewelry on it and ask them about the aftercare. NAIVE you are!!!!!! so look up a reputable piercer and talk to them!
no you dont use tea tree oil on it.. go to your pieriicer and ask them abotut he aftercare..... you will have a BUTT load of problems if you dont TRUST ME
Yikes...no, that is not normal. The stud is probably too tight. It will never heal this way. I would recommend going to a tattoo place that does piercing, & having them look at it. Maybe they will be able to switch it to an actual nose ring for you. Don't get your hopes too high, though. I'm sure the stud in your nose is much less than a 16g, which is what most nose rings are made to fit. You probably just have a regular earring size in there. Saline solution is best for piercings - I've found. Tea tree is great to prevent scarring.
I'm sure you've figured this out already, but nose piercings should neverrrrr be done with a gun.
Are u crazy? are u an ox?
TAKE THE BACK OFF AND CLEANSE TWICE A DAY
you are right about the gun, its a cartlidge piercing and the risk of shattering the cartlidge is high so it shoul have been a needle piercing
anyways like you said-done now, my biggest worry here is that with a back on the jewellry that there is no room to compensate for any swelling whilst healing, and gun jewellery is usually a way thicker gauge than when its done with a needle, the swelling is normal however no matter how you are pierced, i would be bathing tis 3 - 4 times a day in a soloution of half a tsp rock salt dissolved in half pint boiling water, and allowed to cool, this will work way better than any tea tree oil or savlon. at the first opportunity i would take yourself to a piercing studio and have them take a look at it and see what they advise, you will be able to salvage this situatio but it will be a longer healing process, good luck to you
It is important for people to find reputable piercers and not allow tools like ear piercing guns to be used. The reason that piercing guns should not be used for ANY form of piercing is that these tools are not sterlilized and this leaves them capable of transmission of body fluid-borne diseases and infections, including hepatitis and HIV.
Actually, I can't answer your questions directly because what on earth will do such thing? I will just advice you: consult to a doctor who is familiar in piercings. By the way, thanks for the question you take time for us to answer!
i highly recommend visiting a respectable piercing studio to have your nose looked at. for one, the jewelry definitely must be changed. piercing guns and the jewelry that is associated with them are not appropriate for nose piercings. you need to visit a piercer and have them remove the jewelry for you. then they can determine if there's going to be any sort of damage or healing issue as well as set you up with jewelry that will better suit your nose. they will also be able to recommend aftercare procedures.
