Would very pale skin tan by gradual use of sun bed??

Question: I have extremely pale skin - it's summer, and holiday time. And I can't stand the paleness of my skin at all.

I understand sunbeds & burning will heavily increase the chances of cancer.

I hate fake tan, when it blotches up - it looks terrible. Also, the smell of biscuits is really not appealing! hah.

So, I am asking the very question -will sunbeds eventually change my colour? Or, give up?
Answers: I dont think they are going to make much difference to your skin but they will help with the pigment so that when you go into actual sunshine you tan a little easier. Long term use isnt really all that good for your skin. I have the same problem but gave up ages ago. I used a sunbed for a few weeks before I went on holiday a few years ago and it really helped as i got a bit of colour and didnt actually burn (whereas I usually always do).

Try the moisturising creams that give you a summer glow- they are really easy to use and dont streak - if you keep up use of them you should get a nice colour.

best of luck to you !!
I have very pale skin also and i have never got tan in a tanning bed. I just burn and go back to being white. I found a great solution. You said you hated self tanner. Go to a salon that dose spray tanning and get spray tanned. DONT go to the booth that sprays you. Have a person spray you it works great! i go in for another on the 15th they last 2 weeks and it usually coasts 30 dollars
It may do, but you may burn and damage your skin. There are so many self tanning products now, tha tyou are spoilt for choice. I saw a trial for them yesterday on TV, and the best was Neutragena. Go on, give it a go
Dont do it skin cancer kills you get a better result with FAKE BAKE or a good spray tan done at a salon take care lol xxxx
I would not recommend using a sun bed why don't you use self tan products better and safer
Have you tried Dove Summer Glow Body Lotion? It's really good and doesnt streak!

I'm very pale too. I would never risk a sun bed due to the high risks of cancer and premature ageing.
If you don't tan in the sun, then it is unlikely that you will tan in a tanning bed. It also does put you at risk for cancer and burning, like you said. Keep trying different tanning products like lotions, sprays (a professional spray-on tan can look very natural, but it's temporary). I have also heard that they are coming out with a pill you can take that will darken your natural skin pigment. Keep your eyes peeled for that.
I have pale skin as well but I actually tan pretty nice. You just have to gradually work your time up in the tanning bed. Like day one, just stay in for 5 minutes. Day three-10 minutes and so on till you can safely stay in the bed for the whole 20 minutes. It might sound like it will take forever but it doesn't! You'll notice a nice healthy glow in the first week! Good luck!
It will eventually change your colour as long as you havent got red hair - as this will just burn. But please, dont use them, you have no excuses these days - find another product that doesnt make you smell like biscuits! You cant mess around with your health.
SORRY- NO this will ruin your skin...Cancer is the least of your concerns for the future. You wear sunscreen every day !
Wake up, shower, brush teeth, put on sunscreen, then the rest.

The reality of Fair skin is that...your fair. MY SAYING is Be gentle with the porcelain doll it will always break when mishandled.

J-Lo fake tans dear! SO many male models do it, I can't count them. Even folks with dark skin do it!
We do professional bronzing and it last about a week and you can apply the at home version to keep it fresh.

Here are the secrets to a great fake tan .
Let a professional do it, you can't reach your own back!

Bath only with liquid soap and Luke warm water.
Prior to getting the application, get a full body abrasive scrub , then trim short or shave off all body hair [hair blocks the color for spray on] and heavy moisturize your feet, hands, elbows, knees, breast, and ears. All the night before the application.
Use only liquid soap and no perfume, no lotion, no underarm deodorant and very loose clothes. to the shop. Moisturize to the MAX everyday till it fades. I know lots of gals that just want their legs done....so..its up to you.

If you are going to a spray tanner then I would Highly recommend taking the advice of the salon gal. She wants you to look hot since its the whiter ones that are the best customers.

I am so white, my concealer is actually White. In the summer, I get both the bronzer and spray tan done....the reality is then...none of your makeup will work for you and even you hair color may look weird too. So I seldom wear White around the fake tan, except for socks/shoes, since it can rub off. You can pick the shades that work best for you.

This works for all body colors. I have a regular black client and her skin is nigerian dark (her words) when we are done.
So its all woman and men that enjoy this process.

I love it, I can be Dark when I want. I really freaked out my family one year, since I was really dark mocha colored and I did not even look like me in the photos. Funny huh!
give up cause u will turn red instead
yeah.. it may cause burning and lead to cancer.. .. I, too, have very pale skin. if you want a way that makes you work a bit more.. Swimming at least an hour for a few days'll make you tan. Really. I swam for an hour for twelve days and now I'm tan. You dont necessarily have to do it for 12 days, after a few days your color'll change. Just remember to put sunblock. You'll get the UVB/UVA protection you need, and you tan at the same time. but if you want the quick approach.. oh well..
I don't think its wise on very pale skin, i have olive skin and it still takes me ages to tan on a sunbed. Fake tan is rubbish on people with really fair skin I can understand why you hate it as it looks orange. My friend who is very fair uses a mousse and it really worked for her, I think it was lancome or clarins one of the counters in house of fraser, pricey but worked really well.

As for your very question :) it would work eventually xx
its funny isnt it? some people will do anything to get fair and some people wud like to get dark!
i have realy pale skin too....and it is hard for me to get a tan...but i go tanning at tanning beds and it works realy good.... just use sun screen and stuff so you dont get freceles...or any other skind discoloration...
stay outside to play do somethin
u'll tan
or vaseline self-tanner
