What's the best type of stud to wear in a nose piercing??
Question: I've seen different types of studs to wear in a nose piercing (I just got mine pierced a week ago, and no - i'm not changing it yet, just shopping around). I've seen the bones and the straight studs and the corkscrews. The one I have now is an L shape. What's the best/easiest kind to get in and out without problems of falling out?
Answers: I've worn 4 different styles.
The worst has been the straight one w/ a ball on the end. It hurt a bit to push it in when I tried a few years back. Now I've had my nose pierced over 5 years and noticed that when I tried that style it went right in but it didn't stay. I ended up losing one and sometimes they would fall out when I would dry my face, etc.
The 'L' shape is the most comfortable and easiest to get in and out. Because it's just one bend you still have to be careful when drying your face w/ a towel, etc. I've had a few close calls with these.
I've worn two versions of the twisted/corkscrew jewelry. Both versions stay in my nose extremely well. The difference is in the ease of putting them in. The first was the one I was pierced with. It was twisted but at the end was long and straight so it wasn't too hard to insert. You could see the metal if you looked up my nose though so that was a bit unattractive. The second style starts twisting immediately (i.e. the end is not straight). I constantly have problems putting this style in and when it is in sometimes it's so close to my nose membranes that it itches and makes me sneeze occassionaly. Some days I just plain can get this in and wear something else.
In the end I wear all styles as they all have positives and negatives. I wouldn't buy a more expensive nose ring in the bone or L style though as I might lose it but for colored jewels I might try and match to my clothes it would be more preferred as they are the easiest to get in/out.
ps. bodycandy.com is a place I buy a lot of my jewelry they have various styles and good prices
Sorry I don't find nose jewelry attractive.
Get a small diamond or diamond-like gem. Avoid pearls--they look like pimples. I can't help with the falling-out problem. I don't have a nose piercing.
I use the ones from walmart. The ones that I think work the best are the ones that are straight and they have a tiny ball at the end. You can get all sorts of them like that at walmart, hearts, stars, balls, diamonds ect. They usually come in a package of 3 and their usually $6. I've had my nose done for about 2 yrs and Ithink those work the best out of all the others that i've tried! good luck!
Get one that has a few twists and turns in it. nose piesrcings fall out SO easily, and close up so fast. This type is a bit tricky untill you get the hang out of it, but it wont come out unless you pull it out. It might be worth getting a piecer to show you how to put one in.
Mine never comes out, but my brother has now lost 6 that were just straight with a jem on the end.
It's also worth putting a plaster over it at night, because when you've just had it done it can fall out if you knock it on the pillow.
Good luck!
i get a regular stud made of good metal, gold or silver and bend an L-shaped bend into the post, about halfway down. it's easy to insert and falls out a lot less. Plus it doesn't poke your inner nose membranes.
Clean it with hydrogen peroxide at night too.
good luck!
None.
get a nose bone. so it stays in your nose... look online and search for nose bones. they have them on hottopic.com and you can look on amazon.com or anyother body jewelry website.. just dont put regular earings in them! my friend did that and it messed up her hole! nose bones are the best!
