Laser Hair Removal Question-so fast??
Question: Tha doctor who attended to my laser hair removal did the thing very quickly. In about 15 minutes or so, he did my entire face. Now, I know that this laser thing is done relatively faster than electrolysis, but I don't know how.
Doesn't the laser needle have to prick each pore on the skin? If so, then how can it be so easy, as there are several of them on the skin?
I know I should have asked my doctor about it, but it's only after I came home that I realized it. It was my first treatment, too.
My hair is very coarse, grows fast and I'm 22 years old. Do you think 6 sessions are enough for me?
THANKS A MILLION FOR TAKING THE TIME TO ANSWER!!!!
Answers: The laser needle is not a needle at all but a beam of light concentrated to a specific area of size. Depending on the specific instrument used, the area of effect for the laser is roughly the size of a quarter. The process of laser hair removal works by using the laser light to destroy the hair-producing capability of the hair follicle.
Results depend on the texture and color of the hair and skin surrounding it (darker hair on paler skin gives the best results). Most clients require multiple sessions to see lasting/permanent results.
You should remember that there is a healing time associated with laser treatments, since the effects achieved are the result of what is basically a controlled burning of the skin. An analgesic/anaesthetic gel/cream is usually used to help with the discomfort.
if they are so many on your face then it could b possible that removing of hair is not done nicely.

Erm is laser hair remover painful? and does the doctor apply anything on your skin before he start the laser procedure? example: numb cream or what? Please do reply because i am in a dilemma whether to go for laser treatment but i am afraid of the pain.
That sounds exactly right - the laser treatment is much faster and covers an entire small area at once unlike outdated electrolysis. I would advise you to repost this under the Science and Medicine section to attract people to answer who might know more about it
