My skin is so itchy all the time and I scratch so much that it bleeds. Do you have any suggestions??
Question: My skin stays dry and I am constantly scratching. I do use lotion but it doesnt seem to be helping.
Answers: It may be eczema. Go to your dermatologist he/she will give you a prescription. I have eczema its really bad in the summer but other than that no one knows I even have it. Hope I could help :-)
Yikes! Sounds like it's time to see a dermatologist. And find a new lotion, something like eucerin or aquaphor. No hot showers or baths either.
You may need to use a heavier lotion, such as Lubriderm.
The best thing to do is to consult with a doctor (or even just a nurse). You may have a skin condition that is causing the itching.
Also, take a look at what you use in the shower. A lot of soaps can cause a reaction with your skin that's drying it out excessively. I personally use those scrubbing gloves to remove dead skin and aveeno to clean/smooth/moisturize my skin. The cheap body washes and soaps are cheap for a reason, so don't use them. If you're looking to alleviate the problem, you should be willing to spend a little bit more for something that will work.
You probably have some form of excema. I use Triamcinolone. It's prescription which you can get from a doctor/dermatologist.
You definitely need more than just a regular lotion.
Also, Oatmeal baths help with the itching. There are products out there - try Wal-Mart ...
My daughter's skin is also very dry. Things like regular lotion and baby oil really don't do anything for her. Thick body creams or body butters work better. Also, be sure to apply your moisturizer of choice right after getting out of the shower or bath. As the water evaporates, the skin's natural oils evaporate, too.
try taking a bath with Aveeno daily moisturizing bath and use Aveeno moisturizer or u can use Eucerin lotions too just make sure that none of the lotions u use have fragrance in them.
I would see a dermatologist but in the mean time check out cream shower gel from dove for sensitive skin . Eucerin makes calming cream which is also great and widely available.
I have eczema myself . I use these along with whipped shea butter from Daybreak Lavender farm. It comes in a big container . It is heavier than a lotion yet really sinks into do the job . My jar is 2 months old and only half gone. Good Luck

You may be dehydrated....try drinking more water also to relieve the itching try vitamin E cream by Berkley and Jensen....it worked wonders for me... i used to get really itchy during soccer season on my legs...vitamin E is really good for your skin.....i hope your condition gets better and if worse comes to worse go see a dermatologist
At a guess your using soap!
soap will send your PH balance out of whack causing dry itcy skin, oily skin, or blemishes.
You need to find a product that works in sinc with your PH balance.
Lotion itself is not enough, especially because you need to address other areas your skin is lacking.
To go into more detail I would need to know specifically which parts of your skin is causing you so much trauma?
Also for any skin ailments such as these (unless it is a more serious condition) I would always suggest Mary Kay Botanicals due to them being natural ingredients that work with your PH balance.
u have a big skin disease. U can wash using good medical soap atleast 4 times a day. U should certainly visit a dermatologist.
