How do I get rid of this pimple??
Question: I have had this for a month. It has gotten smaller but is still red and a nuisance. How do I get rid of it? Neosporin? Pimple Creme? What?
Answers: i have the same problem...i get random pimples that stay for a long time. some of these methods usually work for me quite well...
Here’s how to get rid of it quickly and safely:
1. Don’t ever pinch, squeeze or pick at a pimple. This only causes it to become more red and inflamed, and will spread the bacteria and oils that caused it in the first place, to other parts of your face! It can also lead to scars.
2. Every 30 minutes, apply an ice pack to the pimple and hold it there for about 2 minutes. This will decrease the swelling and redness and help shrink the inflammation and pain that sometimes comes along with it.
3. They don’t call it concealer for nothing! Covering the pimple with a light dose of flesh-tinted concealer can help mask it when you’re in a hurry. It also helps cover up that oily shine.
4. Cleanse your skin 2-3 times a day with mild, unscented soap or a specialized acne cleanser that has no harsh chemicals (such as lye). Scrub skin gently with an exfoliating pad or washcloth, but don’t rub too hard, otherwise you’ll sap your skin of its own natural oils, which help to repel buildup naturally.
5. Apply a cream or ointment containing benzyl peroxide or salicylic acid (many over-the-counter acne medicines contain these ingredients) to the blemish or around the entire facial area. Note that these ingredients both have a tendency to dry out skin if used too much and are not recommended if you have sensitive skin.
6. Wear oil-free makeup whenever possible. These types have less of a tendency to cause the pore buildup that results in blemishes. Remove your makeup nightly and cleanse with an acne-fighting medicine to remove dirt, oil and makeup from deep within the skin.
7. If you’re in need of a quick fix, a dab of toothpaste on the affected area right before bed can help soothe irritation and reduce redness. Pressing and holding a wet tea bag or a cotton ball with a dab of lemon juice against the blemish for five minutes can also reduce swelling and redness.
If you follow these tips, chances are you’ll notice a significant difference rather quickly – often within a day or two. If pimples become a recurring problem or worsen, your doctor or dermatologist can suggest a daily skin cleansing routine that will suit your skin type. Other long-term remedies, such as facial masks, diet adjustments and increasing the amount of water you drink can also help combat outbreaks.

Need to get rid of a pimple, and fast? Too late to go to the drugstore? Don’t want to shell out big bucks for products that don’t work? Follow these home remedies and heal your acne, fast!
Cure zits overnight by dabbing toothpaste on them just before bedtime. Toothpaste dries the oil and gets rid of the zit.
To get rid of redness and calm skin, first, take two Advil – they’re anti-inflammatory. Then, apply Visine drops to remove redness quick.
Dab egg white onto pimples to draw impurities from the skin.
For softer skin, put a pot of water on the stove. Add a few drops of lavender or peppermint oil and bring to a rolling boil. Drape a towel over your head, and hold your face over the steam. The steam will draw out impurities, and the oils will have a calming effect.
Cook plain, old-fashioned oatmeal and cool it in the refrigerator. Rub it on your face for softer skin.
For those stubborn blackheads, mix cornstarch with vinegar and rub it on the area. Allow it to harden for 15-30 minutes, then wash off with warm water and a washcloth. This will draw out bacteria and clear pores.
To get rid of acne, spread a thin layer of Milk of Magnesia on your face. Let it dry, and wipe off with warm washcloth – it works as well or better than expensive facial masks!
So now you can heal acne fast, with products you already have around the house. In a pinch, these home remedies are a lifesaver!
If the pimple is a simple blackhead...
Begin by cleansing your face. Then apply a clay-based mask to the pimple and its surrounding area. Clay actually draws impurities out of the skin -- in this case, the plug of oil and dead skin cells that created the blackhead in the first place. Allow the mask to sit for its required time, then rinse off. Now apply a pore-cleansing strip (found in drugstores) to the pimple. Your skin should be wet so the strip sticks properly. Allow the strip to dry, and quickly peel it off. With it should come your blackhead. Ice the area for a few minutes to minimize swelling, then follow with your regular makeup routine.
If the pimple is a pustule (in other words, has come to a pus-filled head)...
To begin, soak a washcloth with hot water. The hotter you can stand it, the better its effect will be. Apply this hot washcloth to the pimple; don't press too hard, but rather hold the washcloth against the pimple. The heat will serve to draw the pus inside the pimple upward, making it easier to remove. After you've applied heat for several minutes, gently dry the area. Now wrap each index finger in a clean tissue. Using gentle pressure, lightly squeeze the pimple. Beware: There's a fine line between squeezing gently enough to remove the pus, and hard enough to draw blood (which can lead to scarring). If nothing comes out of the pimple after gentle prodding, leave it alone; you can try the same routine later.
If the pimple is a big, red, itchy, or sore bump...
You have two options: You can either see a dermatologist for an emergency zapping, or you can simply cover the pimple. The first option is the more radical. A dermatologist can inject a cortisone solution into this type of pimple, instantly shrinking it. If this isn't practical, you can try option two: Covering it with makeup. Begin with a concealer that matches your skin exactly; avoid coverup that's lighter than your skin, as it'll highlight rather than camouflage your zit. Use your finger to dab a tiny bit of concealer on the pimple. Now blend the concealer out with a concealer brush. When the pimple is sufficiently covered, top with a dusting of loose powder to help the coverup stay in place. Important: Be sure to wash off the concealer before bed -- skipping this step can actually make the pimple worse!

How to Avoid Acne
Common acne (aka acne vulgaris ) is a skin condition characterized by what are often called pimples or zits. It can occur anywhere on the body and at any age, though it typically affects teenagers on the face and back. You can take steps to avoid and prevent acne by doing the following.
Steps
Remove dead skin cells regularly by exfoliating. Use an abrasive cloth or scrub, or use an over-the-counter chemical exfoliant like salicylic acid and glycolic acid. Remember that over-exfoliating can actually increase the likelihood of red, dry skin by irritating the skin.
Remove bacteria from your pores. Your skin can become allergic to this bacteria. Use bactericidal products containing benzoyl peroxide by rubbing, twice daily, into the pores over the affected region or washing with a medicated soap bar/wash. Keep in mind that this may cause dryness, local irritation and redness.
Avoid exposing your skin to other sources of oil and irritants.
Break the habit of touching your face.
Keep bangs off of your forehead--the oil and the hair products (if any) can clog pores.
If you use a phone a lot, don't let it touch your face.
Change your pillowcases and sheets once a week to prevent the build-up of oils and bacteria that can re-occupy your pores.
Use non-comedogenic moisturizers and makeup. Choose cosmetics that are water-based and hypoallergenic. Avoid oil-free products, coal tar derivatives, and heavy creams. Make sure you wash your skin thoroughly every night to remove makeup residue.
Review your diet and the research surrounding the links between diet and acne.
Studies have shown a correlation between milk and acne. Try substituting with soy milk and other calcium-rich foods.
Excessive consumption of foods high in iodine (e.g. some seafood) may worsen acne but probably won't trigger it
Research suggests--but does not prove--that a diet with a low glycemic index may reduce the likelihood of acne. High glycemic foods to replace with healthier alternatives include:
soft drinks (drink water instead)
sweets (substitute with fruit)
white bread (replace with whole wheat bread)
Remove other potential causes of acne. Some factors, such as being in puberty, can't be altered, but these can, with the approval of your doctor:
Reduce stress and subsequent stress hormones
Consider alternatives to taking anabolic steroids
Minimize use of medication containing halogens (iodides, chlorides, bromides), lithium, barbiturates, or androgens
Tips
Watch your diet and observe the effects it has on your skin. Whatever science has to say, every body is different and how yours responds to certain conditions can best be determined by you alone.
Warnings
Do not make any drastic changes in your diet or skin routine without first consulting a medical professional.
Anything beyond very gentle cleansing can actually worsen existing lesions and even encourage new ones by damaging or overdrying skin.
Benzoyl peroxide can have a bleaching effect on clothes and hair.
How to Get Rid of a Pimple
While there are ways to avoid acne on the whole, there are also times when you get that one pimple in the worst imaginable spot, and you feel like you're walking around with a giant bulls-eye on your face. Well, here's how you can single out that one pesky zit and make it disappear ASAP.
Steps
Do not touch or pop the pimple. It will only make the pimple more obvious and risk infection and scarring. Instead, take up the following routine, twice a day, until it disappears.
Wash your face gently but thoroughly with a mild, medicated soap and warm water.
The water shouldn't feel hot, and lukewarm is a little too cool.
Use a washcloth. If you don't have access to a washcloth, wash your hands very well with soap and water, and then make sure the soap is completely off.
Wash for about 30 seconds.
Pat your skin dry with a towel.
Apply a benzoyl peroxide topical cream on the pimple. Homeopathic alternatives include tea tree oil, baking soda paste (mix with a little water, apply and let dry), and witch hazel.
After topical treatment is dry, apply a basic face moisturizer (unscented and non-comedogenic) is best). Without moisturizing, the skin around the pimple can dry and irritate your skin, possibly making the pimple more inflamed and noticeable.
Cover the pimple with medicated concealer (optional).
Learn how to prevent acne in the first place, so that you stop that next monster pimple before it even starts.
Tips
Wear sunblock (oil-free) when you go out on a sunny day. Since pimples are raw skin, sunburn will only make it worse.
Warnings
2.5% to 5% Benzoyl-Peroxide Solutions are sufficient; 10% or higher can irritate the skin and exacerbate the problem.
Don't use rubbing alcohol. It will sting like crazy and dry and irritate your skin.
How To get Rid Of Blemishes (Pimples)
CLEAN! Get Glowing!
Wash your face with a gentle, oil- and fragrance-free cleanser; preferably a nondetergent one labeled pH balanced.
If you have oily skin all over your face, use a cleanser that contains benzoil peroxide or salicylic acid.
Don't scrub - irritated skin (Evangeline Lilly) swells around the pores, which can cause breakouts.
Skip toner unless your face is very oily, otherwise it might dry out the skin.
TREAT!
Apply a topical acne treatment containing benzoyl peroxide, glycolic acid, or salicylic acid over your entire face, not just where blemishes have already erupted.
At night, use a drying spot-treatment product and dab oil-free moisturizer on dry areas.
In the morning, apply an oil-free sunscreen gel over the entire face.
CONCEAL!
Use a small makeup brush to dab concealer or cream foundation Evangeline Lilly (in the exact same shade as your skin) directly onto the blemish. Use a fingertip to wipe away excess concealer around the blemish and, if necessary, apply another coat of concealer.
If the makeup becomes cakey, carefully wipe it off and start over. gently brush powder (in the exact same shade as your skin) on top of the concealer.
Tricks Of The Trade:
* If you have oily skin and feel that you need toner, apply it only on the T-zone, and rinse it off afterward (leaving it on can dry the skin turn back the clock). Use a clay mask as often as every three days to absorb excess oil.
* To stop redness and swelling in an emergency situation (job interview, wedding), ask your doctor for a cortisone injection. It calms down a pimple almost instantly.
* If you can't get to your dermatologist (or needles make you squemish), temporarily reduce redness and swelling by dabbing on a drop of drugstore cortisone cream, Preparation H, or Vasocon-A eyedrops.

Try ProActiv
ProActive!!! Or wash your face EVERYDAY 5 times a day :)
The best thing to do would be to scrub it right after you take a shower so that the pres will be open. Use soap or a pimple scrub to loosen it up. If you want, you could try a Biore strip, which you put on your nose and then rip off 15 minutes later. The pimple should have been removed along with the strip. (This only hurts a little.) Hope this helps!
ProActiv works really well.
I have had really good luck with calamine lotion. The pink kind, not the clear kind. Put it on at night, when you go to bed. Apply generously, like it's a mask. Let it dry before you go to sleep so your pillow wont turn pink! In the morning, the pimples will be smaller (if not completely gone), your pores will look fantastic, and your face will have a whiter, smoother appearance. It really does work. I use it over my entire face, but it also works if applied to one or two pimples.
Aspirin and white toothpaste also supposedly work, though I have not used that because I use calamine lotion 2-3x per week and my complexion is clear.
Good luck!
Wash your face and neck really good and then try a dab of toothpaste on it . You must use mint toothpaste and no gels you need the white stuff like Colgate . Use your finger to rub it in. The toothpaste will dry it out. GOOD LUCK!
My grandma told me this remedy for pimples but i never tried it so yeah im just trying to help it's your choice if u want to do this:
