Blotchy skin from tanning??
Question: i've been going to a tanning bed lately and i am tanning, but i have spots that are different colors. especially on my arms. is it the tanning bed? should i go to another tanning salon? what can i do to fix it?
Answers: If the spots are brownish then you should stop now. They are so much work and money to remove. I got them from 2 times in a super bed. 7 years I finally are rid of them through long term hydroquinone and an actual removal of the skin that was over $1,000. They come back fast, if they are new save yourself they can be offed quick ( months ) if you get the cream it is like $ 65...
This happened to me when I was going to the tanning bed a lot last summer and the summer before that... It seemed to happen only when I was using a tanning lotion. I've read that these blotchy spots are from where your body is producing melanin (the pigment that gives you the tan color) at different rates on different areas of your body. The whiter spots you see are from where melanin is not being as quickly produced as surrounding areas. It's not the fault of the tanning salon... this could happen anywhere. And I dont think there's anything you can do to stop it, except not to tan at all....sucks, I know. But thats what it is. Accelerating tanning lotions seem to speed the skin's production of melanin, so you may notice this happens more when you use one of those tanning lotions.
I would check with a skin specialist who may well advise you to refrain from using tanning salons. Do it for safety sake!
