I am seriously considering a breast reduction, but my husband isn't convinced, due to scaring etc??

Question: I would love to hear more from people who have had the op, as i hear it is very invasive and painful. I also worry about my husband finding me unnatractive with the scaring, also just how bad is the scaring?
Answers: If you do decide to get a reduciton, be very sure of the doc you use. See if he has before and after pic's of patients.

One of wife's friends had it done. She first had stomach surgery to remove some weight, then did a breast reduction to make it look more even.
The doc seemed to have mislocated the nipples. When she is standing, the remaining breast hangs about normal; but the nipples are too high up - in line with the top of the pectoralis muscle. I'm assuming when she lies down, the breast tissue shifts and looks normal, but I didn't ask for a full viewing.

From what I remember, she said it's painful. I think she said in the hospital a couple days and had to keep wrapped for some time.

IMO, I would get with an exercise expert or a Physical Therapist and see if there were exercises to help loose some of the breast tissue. After all, it mostly consist of fat cells. Also the PT may be able to help with some back strengthing exercises - which everyone needs anyway, but especialy those that have back pain from being double blessed ;-)
The scaring can be considerable going from your nipple all the way down to the bottom of your breast, if they are reduced considerably then the nipple may need relocating further up the breast, the surgery is very invasive and there is a higher risk of complications compared to breast enlargement, on the other side of your coin, your husband should be more understanding, especially if the size of your breasts is causing you health problems.
