Answers: Epilation is removal of the entire hair, including the part below the skin, and an epilator is a small device which does just this - pulls the hairs straight out, same principle as using tweezers on your eyebrows, but pulls more than one at a time of course - Ow! (But I think you get used to it after a couple of times). Other forms are: waxing, sugaring, lasers, threading, or intense pulsed light or electrology. (The alternative is depilation - removal of the hair from above the surface, such as shaving).

Hi its in the same shape as a little razor but instead of blades its little tiny tweezers that pull the hairs out right from the root outwards. Everyone I know says its extremely painfull. My mum said she tried one once and it made her legs bleed and gave her a rash and not the nice hair free legs she had hoped for.
Obvioulsy since then they have made new ones, one that massage probably to take your mind of the pain, and one that has a ice pack on the back so that it numbs the leg as it pulls the hair out, or its suppose to.
I personnaly havent tried one, as I been warned they hurt really badly. I can put up with waxing as this is quite quick, but it gave me a rash as thehairs get pulled out so I dont use these
I have found shaving easier, and quicker and the new Johnsons shower and shave is brilliant leaves skin really soft and really helps shaving.
Its all of the above or..a female torturing device ! Never ever buy one, used mine once and not for very long !
