Need help to dress my son for a fancy dress competition.Pls help...I cant let him down??

Question: There is a function in our society and one of the events is a fancy dress competition for which my son has entered his name.
Since the Ash Abhi wedding is so much in the news, they have decided to go as bride and groom.
Since my son is the shorter of the two, he is the bride and his friend is the groom.
What outfit shd I make him wear? What jew? What make up?
He is 12 years old, cute looking and can look like a pretty bride provided I dress him up right.
I dont want to be responsible for him loosing the competition and want to make all efforts to make sure he looks beautiful.
Pls help me
Answers: First of all, I hope he is not uncomfortable dressing as a girl, that too at the age of 12. If he is, I sincerely wish he is not forced to do so.

1)Anyway, if you want to go ahead with the wedding idea, let me first tell you what aishwarya wore for her wedding. She wore a golden yellow saree and jewels which seemed to be oxidised silver. There was ofcourse, a string of flowers in her hair . She wore a matching golden yellow blouse for her saree. heres a picture: http://www.sundaytimes.lk/070422/images/...

2)If you are unable to get these exact pieces of clothing, Dig out the clothes you wore for your wedding, and if any of the pieces fit him, pair that piece with some thing else.

You could dress him up in a red ghagra choli with lots of fake jewellery found in roadside shops. http://venus.provocateuse.com/images/pho...

3)Also, if you have seen the movie Guru, Aishwarya wears a classic North Indian Relatively simple outfit. Tjis kind of dress will be easy to get, nad is simple yet attractive.

Of all of these, I would reccomens option (2) because he will be very, very uncomfortable wearing a sari.

Do not make him wear mehendi, as he will be riddiculed for it. If you are keen on mehendi, draw the design on his hand with a sketch pen.

Go with light make up. A bit of Kajal, blush, and the sketchpen-mehendi is more than enough. If he is comfortable in wearing lipstick, go for pink. Keep it light!

As for jewellery, dig out the pieces you wore when you got married. If you are unwilling to do that, go for the attractive ones you get in road side shops. I loove fake jewellery!

and oh yeah..Drape a duppata around his head .

But i REALLY dont think he will be willing to do all this. He shouldn't be forced to, either. You could always drop this idea, and go for a new one instead. How about dressing him up as a cricketer or a footballer?? Imagine your son as Dhoni...wont he look cute?

But It's your decision, and whatever you dress him up as, I hope he does well and wins.

Good luck!
Don't go for the usual wedding couple or great leaders for fancy dress competition.Take some ideas from the great novels and do some small conversations which may tell the entire story. Please read an example.Put your son as Robin Hood and make two more characters as rich and poor.Create a conversation between the three and ask your son to explain why Robin Hood became a thief.Thank you.
Oh goodness, you've already let him down!
I have a 12 year old brother, and the last time he had a fancy dress competition he went as a vampire, he looked so cute! All he needed was a black cape, dark clothes, he's already got jet black hair, he needed pale makeup and some little fake fangs which you can get from a costume shop.
I think the bride and groom is nice but too common! Ask your son what he would want to wear, he will probably will want something different?
I dont think you have let him down yet, you're already taking an interest and want to help him which I am sure you will. :)
Here are a couple of ideas . . . see whats better. .
1.make him wear the dress like ash wore for her wedding. . .the golden lehnga and jewellry. . .
2.let him be a Christian bride. . . .like a white gown and . . . you know. . . . western type. . .
now u can decide between the 2. . . .
omg dont let it go easily
make him wear lahenga
he is just 12 years old.plzzzzzzzzz dont overload him with hifty bride dress. keep him simple. make him look like a christian bride. wreath, crown with white stone, white gown, face covered with vale. and a had full of possy i mean bush of flowers
Have u seen the wedding pics of Abhi Ash in the newspapers...just use them and dress him up as Ash looks in the pictures.
get hos nose pierced and make him wear nose stud
I wonder how ur child agreed to the idea of becoming a bride, try to go for other ideas.
