How come when i ask a question about getting a ROSE tattoo. everyone comments on how i will??
Question: regret it cause everyone has them who cares if they are a common tattoo! so are butterflies and any other flower,STARS, swallows! its just a popular tattto that has alot meaning behind it.!
well since people seemed to be getting into a scuffle with eachother in my last question. im getting a rose tattoo (red rose) it is my birth flower and my grandmas favotie flower. i am also getting my brothers and mothers birth flower incorporated into it. i want it medium sized but im not sure where. the artist i want to go to is booked till next year. (www.divingswallow.com and click on marie wadman) so i have plenty of time to draw it out myself.. i am an artist and have some of my own work tattooed onto other peopel already, its very rewarding. anyways so i have plenty of time to think it out! and draw it out. im certin i want this piece. where shoudl i get it?
shoulder blade(which side)? upper back int he middle? or downt he side on my rib cage.
this will be my first tattoo
Answers: Here's the deal - if you were to name your first born son Michael, for instance, it shouldn't matter that it is a very common name and there are soooo many Michaels out there now, etc. Who would tell you that? Additionally, what if the name selection also carried special meaning like after the baby's grandfather, maybe?
I smiled when I read your rose was commemorating your grandmother. I actually have a rose tattooed onto my ankle that was drawn from my grandmother's rose bush that she had for 50 years and would give everyone cuttings of. I have that rose bush still to this day so add another 25 years to it for my personal cutting she gave me. That tattoo is very important to me, so it is NOT just a rose.
Regarding the placement. I think it will come to you better once the artwork is done. Sometimes things don't look right depending on body structure, muscle movement, etc. Once it is finished, I would ask your artist for suggestions and try it out with the stencil. Just like the design came to you and you are sure of it, so will its placement.
don't worry about whatever negativity people have. i'm just glad you're not getting tribal!! everybody has their opinions on what tattoos are and aren't supposed to be. and i guarantee that most people on here don't have a unique tattoo. atleast someone has something like what they have. i know i do. but they are mine. good luck! i LOVE that you are maybe getting it on your ribcage!!!
it doesn't matter what anyone thinks of what u have. it's ur body and u can do whatever u want. if u r sure that a rose is what u want and something u won't regret than go for it. i think that ur chest where ur heart is is a good place to put a rose. i have always wanted one there. i heard it isn't too bad...any tattoo will hurt to some extent but it's not like it will be terrible pain, good luck with ur tattoo and u enjoy it. regardless of what anyone says.
I think you should say i am getting a tattoo and i don't know ware so please don't ask
I'd probably get it on my shoulder blade. I think it would look nice there. You choose any side cuz they both are really the same!
get it, and also get yur familys birth Flowers 2, ooh it would look so pretty if u had a bouquet on yur back, jus a suggestion, but totally dude, do wat u want, i think it would look really nice!!!
hey i have a rose, its on my entire back, i got a pic up on myspace.com/germanrose in my picture section, you can check it out if you want, its a briar rose and goes from my shoulders down to the bottom of my back, im looking to re-ink it soon and get some additional details to it soon.
If you want a rose hun, go for it, it is your body do not listen to what other people say since they are not living in your body and living your life.
I had some critiscm with mine since if i wear a tank top you see the top of it but i don't care, its apart of myself, i don't even consiously show it off anymore like you do when its new.
I'm proud of what i have on my body and i stand by my decisions.
From one perspective I can see people as negative because they think if everyone joins their club, they'll no longer be cool - I have a rose tattoo and if someone else gets it, that hurts me . (It could be argued that they are the ones who have the wrong perspective on this, if they even admitted to their reasoning)
A silly thought, but common for reasons I don't fully grok. Exchanging rings when getting married is a common thing to do. Does that mean if one gets married the marriages of billions of other people is somehow cheapened?
Location is something that may come to you as you work out the piece. I have limited personal artistic skills. I know what I like, and trust my artist to keep me from doing something stupid. :) So, I'll shut up now and not suggest the worst possible place.
This tattoo seems like it has alot of meaning for you and congrats for that. I also think its cool that youir doing your mom and bro's birth flower and a rose was your grandma's fav flower thats so sweet! Seems like this is going to be a family tattoo! Is it going to be like a boquet of flowers cause that would be cool Like a few flowers tied together *forever together* on your ribcage the black and white with a little bit of clolor sounds really nice! Message me when you draw it up it sounds AMAZING! ANd tattoo's don't really hurt I have some on my feet there forever its well worth it I also don't know if you thought about it but this sounds like it would be nice on your calf or your hip if you don't like the ribcage idea good luck and ignore the mean people!
i personally don't care what you do...or know why anyone else would care what you do, because quite literally, we don't..get a skull & cross bones, we don't care.
I have lillies on the lower right side of my back, right above my butt, I love it. It is my name sake (my middle name, passed down for generations) Don't worry about what others think. Good for you for standing by what you feel and not letting others sway your opinion!
I don't think you ever regret getting a tattoo if it is meaningful and well thought out. It sounds like the rose is very special to you. Everytime you look at it you will be reminded of your Grandma and there is nothing wrong with that! I have a few tattoos and they all have special meaning to me. I will never regret any of them!
I say go for it and don't worry about what everyone else says. Your body, your tattoo.
SCREW THE HATAZ!!! Who cares what they think, i got tats and i love em.. Im getting more too!
Don't worry about the crap other people say, the tattoo has meaning to you and you like it so that's what matters most. I don't think you'll regret it, I've chatted with you enough to know you have your head and heart in the right place. Just ignore everyone sweetie.
Anyway, my personal suggestion for a location is to get it done on your upper thigh. I don't suggest the stomach because even though you don't want kids, it COULD change ( I say all the time I don't want kids, but you never know). My second and other other suggestion is a very bold one. Have it done on your chest, but off center over your heart going onto your arm.
I think it matters on the size as to where you get it. I would also put it in a place you can see. I have a butterfly tattoo on my shoulder I put it there as a symbol of my love for my daughter but I can't see it! If you are going to get something meaningful to you it is good to be able to see it. And roses are beautiful and classic so it never goes out of style! I have one with one bloom and two buds that symbolizes my twin boys and I.
I would just go with what you want to get on yourself. The tattoo is for YOU, not for everyone else....I think out of the 3 locations that you mentioned, I like the upper back in the middle location. I'm one of those weirdos where I like everything to be equal. :)
I don't think it matters if a rose tattoo is common, especially if you are an artist and can make the design yourself. An artist has the ability to make something that's usually considered common into something unique. So screw all the negative stuff people are saying. If I had any artistic talent I wouldn't have waited 30 years before getting a tattoo myself. I've always known what kind of tattoo I wanted, just didn't know anyone who could design it for me.
Anyway, every place you mentioned sounds like a good place for a tattoo, however all of the places you mentioned are places where the tattoo needle will hit bone in the process and those are the most painful places to have one done. I'd suggest getting your first tattoo in a less painful place unless you have a higher tolerance for pain.
Personally I think your tattoo would look good below your ribs off to one side or your outer thigh. But if you really would prefer one of the places you mentioned all of them would be good choices, but you'll probably want to get it done in a place were you can see it yourself easily since it has sentimental value so for that reason I'd rule out the shoulder blade or upper middle of your back. Of course you could see it if you use a mirror, but I'd go with the ribcage anyway if you would really prefer one of the 3 places you mentioned.
Good God. How ******* old are you? Something like this should NOT bother you. When you ask questions on here, you are opening up the door of getting bad answers from people who don't like tattoos and/or people who don't like the tattoo idea that you have. Suck it up and take CRITICISM like an adult.
I have a rose on my ankle....but on one of the leaves there's a ladybug.....everybody comments on it.
Don't let all the grumps get to ya, get what ya want, where ya want, speaking from experience all tattoos hurt. Just some hurt alot and some kinda sting. The shoulder blade is a killer! I don't know about on the side, I haven't got any there. Good luck with your first time....it won't be your last, I have 4 and still counting!
isn't it funny how people always find something negative to say about everything. i love roses. i have 8 tat's and 3 of them have roses incorporated into them. all 3 tat's have very special meaning behind them. so if that's what you want then get it. screw everyone else's negativity!!
I think you should get what you want and where you want it. I think a rose/flowers in the middle of your shoulder blades would be very nice. you could then find balance right/left side should you decide to get more. between the shoulder blades is not to bad... I think and anklet with the flowers intertwined would be nice as well... I have an anklet with names and a charm heart that hangs down towards the center of my foot... it is all individual.. go with what is in your heart.
