Anyone here have a pierced nose??
Question: I was thinking of getting this done, and was looking for information on healing time, maintenence, general cost, and pain level.
I have several tattoo's, and recently pierced the cartilage at the top of my ear, so is a nose piercing comprable to that?
And what kind of studs do you tend to wear on a day to day basis?
Answers: I have 13 piercings, one of which being my nose and I don't think it hurt much at all, then again I got it 4 years ago so it's hard for me to remember. It cost me $30 and after 8 weeks I changed it from the standard 20g stud to a 16g hoop. I have had the hoop in ever since except for interviews and other things that the hoop may not be good for. I basically cleaned it everyday with bactiene for the first month or so and then that was it. It has never given me a problem since however, every like 10 to 12 weeks I take it out and let the hoop soak in alcohol for a few minutes to clean it.
Good Luck and hope you love your nose piercing.
Mine healed within a few days with very little maintenance. It makes your eyes water when you get it done, but the pain isn't unbearable or anything like that. Usually the piercing costs about $20 and then the price of whatever jewlery you pick.
Honestly I thought the top of the ears was harder to get used to (because you have to sleep on them) - But the actual pierce on the nostril does sting a lot more then the ear.
I wear the same small diamond stud everyday.
Just make sure you go to a reputable place so you don't risk infection. Good luck - be brave! =)
i think the piercing part hurts much less. It took my nose 6 months to heal. you need to wash it 2 times a day with a mild soap. avoid foam soap because it dries the skin out too much. DO NOT let them under any circumstances put a pre bent stud your nose. it should be bent to suit each individual nose. when you get it pierced the piercer should sort of measure your nose by pinching it a little to see how thick the nostril is. it is important to have proper fitting jewelry because if the jewelry is not big enough to compensate for swelling you will get extra scar tissue, possibly an infection from lack of air, and a visable bump around the piercing. be prepared for buggers galore. the stud is a magnet for them. good luck. i hope you'll love yours as much as i love mine. for the record, it takes at least 6 months- 1 year to fully heal.
mine took time to heal... maybe a month or so... soak it with sea salt and warm water for 15 min twice a day.... it sucks but it'll be worth it in the end!
the first time mine never fully healed. but thats [artly because i did it myself && because i changed it all the time before it had time to heal. the second time I got it done. It costed $25. it healed in like 1 1/2 months i guess. i kept the stud it was pierced with in for 8 or 9 months. now i change it once or twice a month just to clean my hole && the jewelry real good. i had less pain then when i had my cartilage done. i went to claire's at the mall && bought a clear retainer for when i go to more reserved places && walmart sells 3 studs for like $4 that look good. good luck
i have had mine pierced for many years. I think I paid like $40. It didn't hurt too bad. Like a shot, I suppose. Mine bled for several days. You just need to make sure to clean it several times a day. I use studs that are L shaped. They are the easiest to take in & out
Doesnt hurt all that much, just a mild sting that can make the eyes water.
Mine healed pretty quickly, about two days. I find gold is the best to wear.
Price is usually increased according to the jewellery that you choose.
There are some really cool studs you can get that have flat backs. They stop the pole from sticking into your nose. Especially useful when you go to sleep.
Just like ear piercing. It heals in a week. Keep it clean with a alcohol spirit from pharmacy. I used to wear dangling diamonds studs and big ring.
i got my nose done about 3 weeks ago. it didn't really hurt.. the pain came quick and is over in a second. it depends how u handle pain. ive had the top of my ear pierced too and that definitly hurt more than my nose. i paid 5 quid for my nose piercing lol but cost can range. healing time is around 4-6 weeks and during that time its best to leave the stud in.. dont take it out and to clean it use salt and water it works the best. i wear a small diamond stud in mine but u can get different size studs, and nose rings. u must clean it tho just incase it gets infected and if u dont clean it a crust can usually form around the stud.
