Which is the better method of permanent hair removal-- laser or electrolysis??
Question: Which has fewer side effects, shorter recovery, less pain, more permanent effects, etc?
Answers: Laser hair removal...no contest. Electrolysis hurts more and has a higher risk of scarring. Laser covers a larger area, faster.
I have had both and cannot begin to explain the benefits of laser over electrolysis. If you go for a laser consult, make sure the person is experienced and is using fairly new technology.
Laser. Electrolysis is MUCH more painful, potential scarring, etc...
Laser is more expensive, however. It has the potential to last up to 2 years.
I've heard from many sources that laser is better and less painful, though no means of hair removal can really guarantee permanent hair removal, especially not just by doing it once!
Laser removal is more effective if you have dark thick hair. Peach fuzz or blonde hair is harder to remove and you won't get the same effects as having the darker hair. Laser removes more hairs at one time while electrolysis zaps one hair at a time. Laser treatments you have to keep going back for sessions, electrolysis you may have to go back for a few stray hairs here and there. Laser is not as painful either.
Laser is awesome! Very expensive but permanent
