Applying green liquid Hallowen makeup??
Question: Help. I have Ben Nye liquid makeup in green. I practiced last night for my Alien costume. It doesn't go on even enough. I used a makeup sponge because after doing some research I saw thats the best way. However, it looks very splotchy and uneven. I want it to look good and even. Any makeup experts out there who are professionals or have done stage makeup? This stuff dries pretty quick and seems like you can't go over it more to make it even
Answers: If you are trying to get your whole face green then there are a few things you can try...
you can try and put a bit of face moistureizer on your spong before you start working with the makeup and that might help to keep it moist as you spread it on your face.
you can also try investing in a makeup brush instead of a sponge. A makeup brush won't absorb as much of your makeup and might make it go on smoother.
Many liquid makeups are meant to be applied with an airbrush for best results and therefore dry VERY fast. You might be better off looking for a cream based makeup that will go on smoother and easier. You can find this at most party supply stores this time of year, or a costume shop...
Good luck!
I hate liquid, this is one of the downfalls. Why not try getting some green eye pencil and using that instead? It's much easier to handle.
Liquid makeup is hard to work with. It takes practice. The main thing I've learned is, not putting it on too thick. Softly applying the makeup should help. Let it dry and then you can touch up if needed.
Have fun
