Wedding makeup??
Question: I'm getting married in a hot climate and am worried about using a makeup artist who I don't know. What can I do?
Answers: Usually, you will need to do a dry run . I assume you do not live where you are getting married? Most people will have their hair and makup done a month or two prior to the wedding, to be sure the makeup and hair artist give them what they are looking for. If you are getting married outside of where you live, and it is too far to travel for a dry run, you may have to rely on the internet to see who is good or bring that person with you to the wedding, which is costly.
Talk to your hair stylist and your friends to get recommendations. I found out that my stylist had recently been to the place I was getting married. Not only could she recommend a good hair stylist, but she referred me to a salon that did good makeup work. Also - you could post a question with the location where you're getting married, and see if anyone on here has referrals to give you.
Honestly, if you're good with your own makeup, I'd suggest doing it yourself. Our daughter looks back on her photographs, which are beautiful, but declares she'd have looked better had she done her own. If you choose do it yourself, just enhance it, as if you were going out for the evening. Setting it with a mist of Evian water, etc. is also a good idea for the hot climate. If you use an artist, just make sure she doesn't over do it so your natural beauty as a young bride shines through.
I think it'll be best if you do your make up yourself, because it's a hot climate, you wouldnt need too much, but simple make-up. Make sure you get few magazines to help with that and you can also try it on your own face so you see exactly what you would prefer.
One think is sure!!! You have to look really you, so don't do any dramatic changes on your style for the big day! Obviously you are not getting married where you live but in a hot climate. You can make up yourself very easily. You' ll need only someone to do a french manicure on toes and nails(looks innocent and lovely with the ring!) and for face you' ll need a nice foundation (i recommend Dior sculpt 030- expensive but worth every penny) a soft beach blush you can use as eye shadow as well, a good concealer (go for clinique liquid lighter than your skin) , about three applications of mascara, a stay on lipstick, cause you can't reapply it during the wedding and you' ll have to kiss lots of people, and last but not least a nice powder for face and body. Since you'll be in a sunny place you'll need to look a bit tanned so try Benefit Dallas. Its so natural and you'll use it for a long time. For perfume you need something unique but not overpowering. I would go for Sunset Heat of Escada (if you are getting married in the tropics) or Annick Goutal Eau de Camille.
Enjoy your day!!!!!
t
do natural tones with a peach colored lipstick or gloss...little foundation. No need to get it done unless u really want to. Congrats girl!
I would buy the make up you want and then have a professional apply it... Make up forever makes great make up with major staying power, it was originally meant for stage make up so its got to stay on under hot lights... get what colors you want from them and then hire someone to apply it!
ask your friends or your hair stylist they can maybe recommend someone
Can you do it yourself or have a talented bridesmaid help? I got married 4 months ago and I'm so happy with how my makeup turned out. I strongly suggest using Smashbox cosmetics - they are made for photography and your pics will look fabulous! They sell it at Nordstroms, Sephora, and Ulta. See if you can get your makeup done by the ladies a month or so in advance, then buy everything you need and practice practice practice! No matter what brand you use, you should definitely use their foundation primer - all the celebs use it and it is amazing! Will help your foundation last in the hot sun. I'm sure you will be absolutely stunning on your special day! Congrats!
Try not to wear too much foundation! Your skin will get really oily and greasy from the humidity. Just use an oil-absorbing powder and a nice bronzer to cover any flaws or blemishes.
