How to get my light brown/dark blonde hair to a level 9 blonde??
Question: I have light brown/dark blonde hair (about level 7). My hair also has golden or yellow/orange undertones. Recently I have had the itch to get it back to the light blonde it was as a child. I bought a level 9 neutral ash blonde & left it on for about 30-40 minutes. All it did was SLIGHTLY lighten my hair (not much for even my husband to notice) and turn it a horrible brassy tone! About a month later I went to a stylist who used a neutral blonde shade that was about a level 8. It did absolutely nothing expect accent the brassiness. Next, I went to Sally Beauty Supply and told the lady I wanted my hair 1 level lighter and to tone down the brassiness. She instructed me to buy a 30 V developer & mix it at a 1:1 ratio with my shampoo to lighten & then use this stuff called Lock-in Blonde to mix with my shampoo to tone down the brassiness. The developer did NOTHING to lighten. The Lock-in Blonde is starting to help & I'll keep using it. ...but how do I get my hair to LIGHTEN?
Answers: Find a good hairdresser and have them try to fix it for you.
First off you need bleach to lighten hair, I have never heard of mixing anything with shampoo to lighten hair.
I tryed to get platinum blonde at home and it wrecked my hair, when I finally did go to a hairdresser I got the colour I wanted but it didn't help the damage I had already done...
Ask for a full head of foils under the steamer, it does take a while to get a really nice white blonde...
But your best off seeking a professional...
I had the same problem with mine... I used alot of at home products and they barely lightened my hair, they just damaged it and made it brassy...
When I went to the salon afterwards, they done a fullhead of foils and I finally had a really beautiful blonde, if you want really light blonde (lol although it sounds like you don't) then you can have them put you under the steamer with the foils in.
But yeh go see a hairdresser, they fixed mine and I'm sure they could fix yours too!
Good luck
Oh Honey don't.... You can't improve on perfection so why try...
This is a risk, I mean, look at Christina Aguilera's hair, looks like she's goin' bald.. Don't try it, cause hair to shed more..
