I'm thinking of pink hightlights for my hair. Where do I start??

Question: Okay, this is my first time attempting anything like this , so im all new to this. I want to get parts of my hair ..(streaks?) pink....like the under layers..was wondering how much is a good amount? A few streaks? Just one big one on each side? Like avrils? Also...would salons have PINK as a color? I never even wondered or asked... So...I want pink and I want it streaked..how much and where and whats hot or whom i don tknow. Help , thanks!

Answers: Just have the salon bleach the parts you want pink and go to Hot Topic or Sally and get some Manic Panic hair dye.

I would put a few streaks throughout the bangs and then maybe a few peekaboo's under. Sorry, but Avril looks trashy. You don't want big pink stripes on top of your head. Ick! Make pink and classy as it can get! Make sure you go somewhere that specializes in funky colors. My hair is been LOTS of colors. I've tried pink, and it looked like kool-aid...ugly kool-aid. You just have to go to the right place. Also, if you're unsure if you want to risk ruining your hair you can always go to the salon and get a few braided in extensions. They last for about two weeks and around $5 a piece. Good luck!!

Pink is a great highlight colour but make sure the rest of your hair is a complementing colour namely black or blonde. Most saloons have pink in Aussie the major outragous colour brand is FUDGE or PAINTBOX. Make sure you bleach the parts you want pink to a light blonde first. the lighter you go the brighter the pink will be. I have a side part and when i did it i took a long section from just below the part at the front going around the side and to the back so it just shone thru the black hair right at my part. this looked awesome.

you should check out some photos and decide what you want. this season is for more natural colors, so if you want pink try to make it blend in nicely. Get a hairdresser to bleach up the pieces you want to as light as you can get them without damaging your hair, next, get Fudge in pink flamingo and apply to the streaks only, packaging them in foils to protect the rest of your hair. Voila! goodluck hun
