Why is my mom being so mean to me??
Question: The other day I went school shopping, blah blah, Yeah and she said I wasn't getting anything else until two weeks, will she decreased the time until next week, blah blah again. Well yesterday I went to the mall with my bestfriend and we were driven up to Atlanta..and I spent like $3,000 on my credit card which was not taken away before..or whatever, and my mom is tripping out like I've never spent that before. And I thought by not taking my credit card away before, she was telling me secretly to disobey my dad and go shopping! I just don't get it, she's being a bad mom! I just don't understand her sometimes!

Answers: I can understand why you were confused. Maybe you could just tell her that you misunderstood her signals and apologize. In my experience, being the first one to apologize (even if you are so mad at the other person) ALWAYS makes the other person calm and agreeable. She'll probably be so impressed by it that she won't make you return anything :o)

It's not that she's being a bad mom, but that they had specifically told you not to do somethiing, and you went out and do it anyway. I suppose that since she didn't take your credit card away meant that she trusted you to follow their directions, but this can be misinterpreted. Hopefully your relationship has not suffered too much because of this misunderstanding.
wow i could never, ever get away with spending that much money on a credit card. do your parents pay for that credit card? if they do, no wonder they're mad!
if you really want to find out how your mom is feeling about this and what she's thinking, just talk to her. as in, just have a calm, honest discussion about it, and tell her that you felt like it was ok for you to spend money since she never took the card away. don't get all defensive with her and have an all-out argument though...that won't get you anywhere.
