I'm 26 and need to start moisturizing but with so many choices I'm not sure what the best skin products are?
Question: probably need eye cream or some face cream?
Answers: I like Eucerin.. dye free and fragrance free.
Do you ever realize how much scent and chemicals you put on your skin?
It kinda freaks me out. I even use DHS shampoo to avoid fragrance and dye irritants. I think it would be the best thing for you to use all over. It absorbs yet creates a barrier to hold moisture in and it is also ideal for you face and the body. That and drink water water water.
You should go to a cosmetics counter at a department store and ask for help. They will recommend products based on your skin type and the condition of your face. I am very fond of Chanel products which are deluxe and a little more expensive than usual. Kiehls also makes some good quality moisturizers. If you're on a tighter budget try some of the Olay products or Targets Boots No. 7 brand. I usually buy the smallest available size to try and then if I like the product then I can buy the larger sizes.
My mom and I are using Mary Kay products. The Formula 1 moisturiser is really good ..my mom s face has improved tremendously and no more dry...of course it depends on your skin type as well whether you have dry, normal or oily skin..i have sensitive skin and im only able to use mary kay skincare basic set products.
I personally don't see the need in an eye cream unless you have undereye cirlces or bags. I don't really have any problems with my eyes, so I don't use one. There are so many different brands and types of products, you'd need to be more specific. Is your skin dry? Oily? Do you break out? What are you trying to acheive with products? Are you just wanting to maintain the overall health of your skin?
My advice would be to visit with a dermatologist (estheticians and sales consultants at cosmetics counters mainly focus on selling). A derm will give you neutral advice, rather than push a product on you that you might not need. He/She will be able to tell you your skin type and offer recommendations. Since you're new to the beauty product game, I'd say you ought to start with a gentle cleanser and moisturizer/sunscreen. Stuff like masks and exfoliators can come later.
An ingredient in my moisturizer called Green tea extract worked for me. I use to suffer from a bad case of combination skin - *Very oily on the T zone and dry patches on other areas of my face.* -
Since I started my skin regimen, my face has settled now. No more dry patches and my T zone is now manageable. Mt Tzone use to be so shiny that I can blind people with it.
My aunt who is an esthetician helped me out, the skincare regimen is only 3 steps so it is not a hassle to do twice a day.
I hope that I was able to help you. If you are interested in the products that I use just let me know.
Good luck.
I realize that your only 26 but using an anti aging moisturizer now will take years off your appearance when you get older. You'll be glad you did
Whatever moisturiser you choose, make sure it has SPF (sun protection factor) in it. No lower than 8 but you'd be better with at least 15 but it does depend on you skin type. If you really want good skin as you get older, don't smoke, use SPF daily and drink in moderation. Also, don't use a very high SPF as you skin get become VERY damaged by the sun if you forget to put it on one day - skin becomes completly desensitized to the UV rays. Also, don't blow your money on moisturisers a cheaper one wil be as good as one that costs £50. My sister (who is 36 but looks 10 years younger) has sworn by Astral cream for years and years! I use a garnier one that claims to be 'age defying for younger skin', I like it becasue it doens't make my skin feel greasy and it's a good base for foundation.
My Mom and I really like there skin care line. plus my grandma has been using it for years and for a old lady she has pretty skin.
If you are interested in botanically based skin care that really works, go here: http://HealthSpa.myarbonne.com
Click on the contact link to ask for free samples. There are a few different skin care lines offered there, so be sure to specify which one you want a sample for. I use the anti-aging line and my sister uses the blemish clearing line and we both love our results!
