I'm a 20 year-old woman. My whole life I have only liked guys clothes. My family used 2 always tease me??
Question: because of it, they all use 2 ask If I was gay, BTW I'm not. I love wearing tight jeans but sometimes I wear men shirts (sometimes name-brand) just 2 mix it up. I love wearing tennis shoes, I feel comfortable in them. I wear skirts, dresses, and heels(sometimes). I have my own style and I'm very unique. I'm comfortable with who I am. My problem is a lot of guys give me complements and a lot of them say I make them feel intimidated(I'm not trying 2). I guess this is the reason I can't get a boyfriend. Do guys like when girls dress like this?Sometimes people don't treat me like a woman just because I'm not half naked. I think I should change but I really don't want 2. Should I change?
Answers: Ignore everyone ele. Go with your style. You will find that special someone who loves you for your own style and personality. It's more important to be true to yourself.
You dress and be as you wish.
I THINK A GAL DRESSED AS YOU DESCRIBE IS VERY SEXY....I BET YOUR A VERY SEXY LADY,,,,
No! Be yourself - and you will be open to love from the right person. The right person for you, will not care how you dress - its whats inside of you that counts. Express yourself as you are meant to - who you are.
Dress the way you feel comfortable. I personally love being girly, but sometimes I feel like not being girly, so I will wear baggier clothing in the house. Be you, not who people think you should be.
They likke it when girls dress like that because it makes them feel like they have a 'buddy' not a girlfriend. If you want to change, it's up to you- you know you can find really cute girl clothes// shoes that are really comfortable right?
You should stay true to yourself but make your clothes feminine with accesorries. I found that most guys don't care about what I am wearing...and they are the guys I hang around with. If I wanted to impress someone then I would wear a dress. YOu could experiment with different styles.
Man style pants and shirts are coming back in style...just ad a belt and feminine pink converse. Your wardrobe should change with your age and lifestyle...not with comments from other people. Remember that everyone is a critic and not everyone gives compliments. BE CONFIDENT with your look and that is what makes it work for you.
Don't change! Be you and if you like wearing mens chothes then you do it! I did and still do wear mens clothes. Sure, you'll get more compliments when wearing tight and revealing stuff. But if thats not you, don't wear it! Be you, and tell your family to buzz off and look at their attire. I'm sure they have things they wear that people wouldn't give the best compliments over. Sometimes skimpy and slutty give you negative attention. Being you and still getting attention is all positive!
well you know what u need to tell them wut u just told us!! tell them how what ur doing is ok because ur showing how u really r, not who ur trieing 2 be!and if they cant except that then maybe just maybe they dont deserve to be around u!so do wut u want 2 do, not wut other people want.ok?
you shouldnt change because those who mind dont matter and those who matter dont mind . do what you want and feel comfortable with. There are lots of guys out there. I'm sure theres a cute one out there with a great personality who will love your unique style
I don't think you should change. I mean you are who you are and your actions will show others you aren't gay or bi.
True men do like femine clothes but why don't you dress it up with some cute earrings, nice purse, and possible a necklace.
Also try a feminine hairstyle that will also help you get away with being more casual, and hopefully tell others you are not trying to be *****.
I think the right one will accept for who you are .....I would not change because you will not be happy.
Good Luck to you sweetie!
NO WAY! Don't change if your happy with yourself. If a guy doesn't appreciate who you are, he isn't worth it. But if there's a guy you like, you might want to get to know him as a friend first. Guys probably go for girly-girls they don't know, and individuals that they do know. And it'll last longer, because the relationship wll be based on something other than appearance.
Good for you for fighting the stereotype that women have to look a certain way to be accepted in society.
what's wrong with that.
I get it, your a tom-boy.
of course you're not gay.
Maybe guys like girls when dressing in men's clothes.
You're a woman but not a man, so what if you don't dress slutty to attract guys, I seen HK(Hong Kong) people like some women dress in guy clothes.
Be in your style.
Will, maybe I like girls dressing a tight jeans and a t-shirt.
I'm not gay.
i have no problem of your style
Dress what you want where ever you want and go.
DRESS THE WAY YOU WANT TO AND DON'T LISTEN TO ANYBODY.IF YOU FEEL COMFORTABLE IN WHAT YOU WEAR,!!!!!!!! THEN WEAR IT.!!!!! IF MEN FEEL INTIMIDATED BY THIS THEY ARE THE WRONG GUYS YOUR LOOKING AT.!!!!!!!! MOST OF THEM ARE SOOKS ANYWAY AND THERE EGO'S GET IN THE WAY.!!!! I WAS A TOM-BOY GROWING UP BUT STILL WEAR MEN JUMPERS BECAUSE THEY ARE COMFY AND BIG.!!! CHEERS CHEN
Yes I think so. You may not be gay, but you are giving the appearance of being a lesbian. You don't have to dress half naked to look smartly dressed. Jeans are great, but I would dump the men's shirts and get yourself some nice trendy tops, and a great blazer or denim jacket. Try wearing western boots with these outfits. Wear makeup and have a great hairstyle. You certainly can look feminine without looking trashy.
Be who you are. You don't need those that are intimidated. A man will step forth and let you know he appreciates you as you are.
No stay true to yourself . At the end of the day you have to live with your decissions so make them wisely. Your family should accept you as you are and if they cant then forgrt them . YOu are grown and you have to live your life as you see fit.
I think you're very right when you say people don't treat me like a woman just because I'm not half naked . I grew up as a tomboy and although I'm a little bit more feminine now, I still love my jeans and my loose-fitting shirts. Plus I don't like attention drawn to me, and when people look at my face they already stare because I am a woman.
The way I dealt with it is...I am confident and I am sexy and I know it. I don't need a man to tell me that, I don't need anyone else to tell me that. If dressing up more girly makes you feel more confident, then do it. If it makes you uncomfortable (as it did in my case) don't. It just takes away from your individuality if you're uncomfortable.
And the reason why you can't get a bf is because you're a individual and guys are intimidated by that factor...not because you appear manly.
who said you had to be half naked to be treated like a woman if you are half naked you'll just get treated like a piece of *** is that how you want a guy to treat you.
i really don't know if a guy would like for a girl to dress that way
it has been my experience that men kind of like it when a girl gets all girly
guys have this thing where they want a girl to take care of i think it goes back to when men were the prominent breadwinners of the family and women didn't work if they feel a woman can take care of herself they may fell like she doesn't have any need for them around
another thing maybe that they do think you are a lesbian but this would depend on how masculine you dress with the mens clothes homosexuality is really prominent in our society today and it makes people think about this more and more some guys may like it and try to play on it but others may be turned off by it
No you shouldn't change if that's what you feel comfortable with. I think that it might turn some boys off because that's not what they're immediately attracted to, but then again there might be other guys who actually like the way you dress and who might think it's cool. But regardless, guys can find so many different types attractive and I think it mainly depends on if they like your personality.
But I design clothes, and so I think style and the way you dress yourself is really important because it's your first opportunity to tell people about you, before you even say a word. So I think that you should dress your outside in the way that best reflects your inside. If you feel like you want to express a masculine vibe, then don't be mad that guys get intimidated or people don't treat you like a woman, because that's the way you're dressing and you're telling people that's the way you want to be taken.
Think about it, if you're going to see a lawyer do you want them to be wearing a wife beater, shorts, and flip flops? No you want them to be professional so you'd want them to be in a suit. So if you want to be seen as more feminine dress in a more feminine manner, and that doesn't necessarily mean that you have to be half naked.
It seems like you want to be feminine while still having an edge so that you can look strong, so if I were you I'd look at women who portray that style, Angelina Jolie does and no one treats her like a guy. Also there's this show called Workout on Bravo and there's a trainer named Jackie Warner who also has that tough powerful female vibe going on. But at the end of the day, go with how you feel, but I'd suggest trying to dress to fit the way you feel you want people to see you and then being comfortable with that. If people don't like it too bad, they don't have to wear it.
You sound exactly like me at that age (not that long ago). Stay just the way you are, unless you're changing for yourself. I married a guy who loved that I intimidated other men, come to think of it, he was pretty proud of it. Men like women who are comfortable with who they are. Believe me, there are many men who see you for who you are and like it, not everyone is going to tell you.
Change can be good sometimes but im not saying that you should go around displaying all the goods flattering clothes can help boost a person's confidence alot knowing that people think you look great is a big plus. I say you try it for one week and if you dont like it then go back to the way you used to dress. Being fashionable never hurt anyone..
don't change
Obviously you have a unique style of dressing -- I say, keep it.
