How come some clothings are so expensive, while the other onces are cheap/fair??
Question: Clothings/items that are expensive are such as - garage clothings/L.A.M.B./hermes/latitude/and so on
while the fair priced clothings such as - old navy/gap/ect...
what's the difference? why does the price differ that the expensive ones are so good? who buys the expensive clothings if there are cheaper ones? where do expensive clothing come from that makes them so expensive? like, a piece of t-shirt in a expensive store would cost over 100 dollars while the ones in old navy are for 4.99. no to offend any retailers - im just wondering why....
Answers: Supply and demand.
Better fabric, quality, designing, and how famous name of the owner is the reason!!!
Choose clothes wisely ^_^
well sometimes the material is better and (seldom) it is more popular so there is a higher demand like polyester for 10 dollars and silk for 60 dollars
It is just that the Brand has a value and non branded does not carry that reputation as the branded one has in market and in the mind of end consumer. If you can judge between good & bad clothing or any other product then get good bargain in less price.
Its the name you pay for. My partner insists on buying expensive clothes but i get them at high street prices. Down side is that he only buys couple of items at a time whereas for the same money i can buy several outfits
Usually, the high price is because of the name behind it/'who wears it/makes it',although sometimes, some higher end clothing is priced high because of its quality and the detail that went into making it. Most use the judgement of pop culture, magazines, and television to weed out the best from cheaper stuff, but usually all it takes is good taste to make cheaper things look really nice.
It can be the reputation of the clothing designer because more people want to buy their brand of clothes. It can be the fabrics the clothes are made from or the embellishments (decorations). It can be that the store selling the clothes offers better service (free alterations with purchase of full priced items, or better returns policy for instance). Also, some large stores like Wal-Mart negotiate huge wholesale contracts with their buying power, such as we'll buy xx,xxx shirts if you'll sell them to us at less than x.xx each. Sometimes imported clothes cost less if the labor to make them cost less - if you can pay someone in China 69 cents an hour versus having to pay someone in US $7 an hour, the end result would cost less for product made in China than made in U.S.
And sometimes, its just what happens to be trendy at the minute. For instance, you don't want everyone to know that you are wearing the same thing that you did 5 years ago.
several reasons
1. quality....better materials, better sewing
2) details...expensive clothing has handmade details inside and out
3. cutting edge of design and style. (gap and old navy just copy what the desginers do from the recent fashion weeks past. They dont really come up with their own styles....desginer come up with whats trendy and gap just makes them so everyone can afford it.
4) Exclusitvity....certain brands dont want just anyone wearing their clothes so they charge more so that the average person cant afford them this keeps the name of the brand prestigious....when you pay for the exclusivity your USUALLY paying for all those other things as well.
They can only sell something for as much as someone is willing to pay for it. ....and the people who shop at chanel are willing to pay $ 400 for a tshirt because they can.
Those waist belts and ridding boots were on the runway about 2 years ago...but now 2 years later all the stores that sell to the general public have them in stock. The cheap stores just take the styles from runways. Thats why europeans are so stylish because they are at the cutting edge of all the fashion. The rest of the world comes to it a year later.
Silly question though hope that helps/
It depends heavily on quality (material), design, comfort, product of which country (e.g. China VS Italy), and how well known the brand is nationally or internationally. That is why rich people don't mind paying a premium for designer clothing as they have all the traits mentioned above.
