How can u tell the diff between a poser and a...nonposer??
Question: there are these girls in my school who are always like, shes a poser and that girl is such a poser and crap like that...blah, blah, blah...anyways, how can i tell them whats the diff, cuz they called me a poser, just cuz i wear hollister. i wear there jeans, hoodies, camis, knits, and so on. i really try hard not to buy stuff that has hollister written across the front in huge bold letters, to look like a poser. any other ways that i can tell if someone is a poser?
Answers: I didn't know there was such a thing
as preppy posers. I just thought it
was in the scene.
posers try too hard.
There are a set of engrained rules for each group of people.
If you follow these rules, to the dot, then you're a giant pouser, and no one will like you.
Example; the pouser rules for emo are:
-black eyeliner
-fringe
-skinny jeans/band tees
-chucks
But if you put your own spin on things, and just be yourself, you won't be called a poser. Just have your own thing(s), have a different air about you. If you be yourself, this shouldn't be an issue.
And if people still call you a pouser...well... **** them.
Posers go ALL out and buy everything from a certain place or something just to fit a stereotype. They look REALLY obvious and you can tell that's not how they really are.
Non-posers are just themselves, whether it fits into some label or not, and don't limit themself to one thing just to fit in or because it's cool.
A REAL prep: Wears things from preppy brands, but also follows other trends some of the time.
A poser prep: Buys everything with BIG letters advertising where they got it, and wears NOTHING but polos and short skirts, etc.
A REAL indie kid: Listens to indie music, dresses how they want and doesn't care about what others think.
An indie POSER: Has never heard of even the biggest indie bands like Hot Hot Heat and piggybacks on other people's music taste, in addition to shopping at stores like Urban Outfitters and dressing really tacky trying to look unique.
walking around sporting the words Hollister and Abercrombie would make them the posers, not you. You sound like you're keepin it real...lol.
